Maroon & Gold Rising PAC

The Maroon and Gold Rising PAC is a Political Action Committee that "builds and strengthens relationships with the Minnesota Legislature. We support the legislative leaders and caucuses who provide the public investment to the University of Minnesota to achieve its educational, research and outreach mission." They are made up of past UMN leadership and work to insulate the selection processes and legislative decisions. They are funded and led by regents, presidents, etc.

Notable donors: Ken Powell (regent), Kanie Mayeron (regent), David McMillan (former regent & current chancellor of UMN-Duluth), Richard Beeson (former regent)

Current Chair of the Regent Candidate Advisory Committee, Senator Greg Clausen, is a recipient of Maroon and Gold Rising PAC donations. Questions of his impartiality have been raised since his appointment- especially since Regent Powell is up for re-election this cycle.
